Make Money Reading Online Articles! Researched Lead.

I ran across this lead last week on www.workplacelikehome.com.  There are a few people who are reading articles with this company and getting paid.

If you read my last article you know that I am looking for ways to make money without having to talk on the phone, so this gig is perfect for me!  I know  some of you may have the same kind of need to do non-phone work for different reasons, so I am posting this info for all of us!

The company is called Circumnews.  Click on these words to access the sign up page.  All you have to do is follow my referral link and sign up as a user.  All I did was fill out the email and password.  I used an email through gmail that I tend to use only for jobs. I also used a unique password that I don't use for any other logins.  After giving my email and password, I simply clicked sign up.  Then I clicked READ NEWS.  A list of articles will pop up.  All you have to do is click on the article, click on the hyperlink to the article, go back to the Circumnews page, click "Confirm" and do the simple task to confirm that you are not a bot.  Then you will see the article payment amount added to your "Finances" at the top of the page.

Once you get to $350. you can cash out.  Payments are added to your Paypal account 14 days after you submit for payment.  This is called "NET14".

It may seem like it takes forever to get to $350., but don't worry!  Keep reading articles, share your referral link and you will be able to cash out, hopefully, before Christmas!  Even if you cash out after Christmas, you will have $$ to pay those dreaded after Christmas credit card bills!

IMPORTANT UPDATE!! My Surgery and Recovery info, New Work At Home Plans, My Pain Can Be Your Gain!

Hello again!  If  you saw my most recent posts on my blog's Facebook page, you know that I just recently had surgery and am taking time off of work to recover.  

My surgery was on November 1st to remove a parathyroid gland that developed a tumor.  The gland was very difficult to extract and in the  process the surgeon severed a nerve that connects to the vocal cord.  Because of this my voice is affected and I cannot work on the phone for quite a while.  :(  Sad, I know.  Believe me.. I am still in shock.  Because I will be unable to work on the phone for a while my bank account is going to go into shock too!  So, I have to improvise and find a way to make money without being on the phone.  


Also, I have an ugly 5 inch scar at the base of my neck where they did the incision.  This will eventually heal and blend into the folds of my neck (hopefully not too many folds!).  To hide the scar and not scare small children and those with weak stomachs, I am wearing scarves.  I am also making scarves and plan on starting an Etsy store.  Please let me know by commenting below, if you are interested in learning more about opening an Etsy store.  I can blog along the way and we can learn together!

The good news is that I can share what I am doing to make money while I am recovering and give all of my friends who wish to work from home new ideas to bring in the cash when we are unable to work outside the home.

First of all I'm going to ask all of you to share my posts so that I can increase my blog audience and actually make a few bucks.  This way I can afford to keep writing the blog and not spend every waking moment listing items on Ebay(and please share My Ebay Listings too!).  Do you need tips about selling your items on ebay?  Ask away!!

Second, I need my readers to ask questions about working from home.  When you ask questions, other readers may have the same questions and this will help everyone in their work at home journey.

Ok, so lets do this!  I'll be checking my blog for questions a couple of times per day.  Now, remember that I am only a few days out of surgery so if I don't respond right away I probably am drooling on my keyboard, hunched over the desk, taking a nap.  Once my hubby finds me and wakes me up, I will at least comment that I am still alive and will be back to answer questions once I can type something coherent!

The Brand Ambassador-HomeAdvisor is responsible for assisting VIPdesk’s client’s customers via phone. Brand Ambassadors will assess customers’ needs and schedule appointments and/or refer them to the applicable pre-screened home-improvement contractor in their area. The Brand Ambassador will assist the customers by helping them submit their requests and providing information on additional services. The Brand Ambassador will use a variety of resources and information to assist customers in a prompt, professional, and concise manner.

We are currently seeking part-time team members with the following availabilities:
Part-time, Monday - Friday; Sunday - 2:00pm - 10:00pm Eastern Time
Part-time, Monday - Friday; Sunday - 8:00am - 4:00pm Eastern Time

Part-time Brand Ambassadors will work up to 34 hours a week, up to 5 days a week. Weekend and holiday work is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Handles customer requests on behalf of VIPdesk’s client, HomeAdvisor, from home office via phone.
Interacts with customers to provide information on submitting requests and home improvement contractor needs and information. 
Utilizes upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase customer experience and convert inquiries into firm referrals for client.
Represents client in a professional, courteous manner.
Uses client programs proficiently to assist customer.
Attends meetings and trainings as required to obtain new and pertinent information about the client and their products and services. 
Applies high quality customer service guidelines while servicing customers.
Applies client and VIPdesk policies as applicable whenever interacting with customers.
Meets or exceeds all program metrics as outlined in training and manuals (e.g., attendance, quality, sales, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.

System, Telephone, and Office Requirements to be provided by the Brand Ambassador**:
Processor Speed - Single Processor: 2 GHz or higher; Dual Core Processor: 1GHz or higher
Operating System - Windows XP with Service Pack 3 or higher, Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 or later (32- and 64-bit),Windows 7. (Windows 8 and MAC are not supported.)
Memory - 1 GB RAM or higher
Web Browser - Minimum: IE 6 with service pack 2 or IE 7 
Internet Access – 1.5 Mbps or more, High Speed Internet Access - DSL or Cable Modem (Dial up, Satellite, and Wireless Connections are NOT allowed). 
Gmail e-mail account 
Telephone - Analog (not digital), corded phone (Not Cordless), key pad needs to be on the base (can not be on handset), the handset needs to be removable (cord from jack), a good brand.

Headset that is corded and able to connect to telephone base, noise-cancelling, and of a quality brand (wireless not permitted).
*** May be responsible in future to provide approved USB noise-cancelling headset
Telephone Access - One work phone line (land line only) dedicated to VIPdesk. Analog or Fiber Optic Digital (no VoIP - e.g., Vonage).
Ability to receive and send faxes.
Sound card with speakers or USB speakers.
Anti-Virus Software, Anti-Spyware, & Firewall - Current and regularly updated required.
Home Office - Home office is in a separate room that is noise free and has a door with locks.
Cross-cut Shredder Machine
File cabinet or desk drawer with lock
Job Requirements:
Able to sit in a confined position for 95% of each scheduled shift.
Keys data into the computer system and views a computer screen repetitively.
Due to the home-based nature of this job, the Brand Ambassadors is required to have a home-office environment, phone line, internet connection, and a computer system that meets VIPdesk policies and maintenance requirements, including system upgrades as applicable, which may change over time.

Job Qualifications:
High-school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred. 
1+ years related customer service experience required. 
Prior sales experience required.
Knowledge of basic home repair services is required.
Able to thrive in a performance-based environment and motivated by sales goals and incentives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer and internet skills. Able to learn quickly in a technical environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Able to type at least 35 words per minute. 
Able to use effective and probing questioning and listening techniques to identify customer needs.
Polite, friendly and knowledgeable phone demeanor.
Highly adaptable, self-motivated and self-disciplined.
Able to learn and work independently as well as in a team environment.

Total compensation averaging $8.50-12.00/hr (hourly rate is $8.50 plus commission/bonus structure)
**VIPdesk is requiring new employees to use VoIP (internet based phone) within 60 days of starting with the company. New employees would start training using a regular phone line and would move to VoIP after training. There is a cost to purchase an approved headset for VoIP.

Pay is anywhere from $9. - $9.50 per hour.  Some lines offer an incentive for sales and metrics.  Reps that I know have offered varied experiences with this company.  Some love it and some have had bad experiences.  I say, take it with a grain of salt.  You never know if your training will have a bunch of fellow trainees that know nothing about computers or if you will get a strict trainer.  Team leads can also vary.  Also, these call center jobs all require employees to abide by certain call metrics for call time, after work time and some have sales goals. Online Teacher No Certificate Needed

Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for teachers to provide online instruction to students across the country on a part-time afterschool basis. Instructors will deliver reading and/or math services from their home at least 6 hours per week and must have availability between 4:30pm and 9pm PST. Some Saturday morning sessions will also be available. Training provided on our easy-to-follow curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Actively engage students in curriculum through online classroom
Actively teach each scheduled session in its entirety and perform administrative duties as needed
Maintains a positive attitude and demonstrates enthusiasm during their engagement with students and co-workers
Administers assessments to students according to and within prescribed time guidelines
Completes all required documentation to monitor and assess student performance
Actively and effectively encourage student attendance

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
1 year of teaching experience
Availability from 4:30pm-9pmfor 12 hours per week
Instruct 3rd through 12th grade students in reading and math
Fingerprinting and Background Check will be required at no cost to the employee
Personal computer must meet Learn It’s technical requirements:
1 Ghz processor or greater with 512MB or more system memory
20 GB available HD disk space
A headset with a microphone
Broadband internet with minimum 384k connection speed
Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 operating system
Experience working with at risk students and struggling learners preferred

Learn It will provide you with extensive training prior to the start of the program. Compensation is around $15-$18 per hour based on student attendance, the rate can go as high as $23 per hour. We are looking for teachers who can commit to teaching two schedules which would be 12 hours per week. Schedules consist of 2 hour long sessions that meet 3 times per week.
